What We Did On Our Holiday – Sophie – Gold Duke of Edinburgh
Member of The Senior Section
After a couple of training weekends and a few months planning, I and the rest of my Duke of Edinburgh group completed our Gold practice expedition.
Some inquisitive cows!
In August, the six of us travelled to Snowdonia, Wales before starting four days of map reading, hiking and camping. We had a very eventful time but it was definitely an experience we will not forget! We faced inquisitive cows, angry farmers, very deep trenches and multiple blisters, but we all managed to reach the end despite the challenges. We also grew a lot closer as a group and worked really well together as a team.
The very deep trench!
Although it doesn’t seem long since our practice expedition, we will be starting to plan for our assessed expedition very soon!
